Marvel Legends Gamerverse

Yeah street dates suck.

I got an order in for Psylocke, why do I always feel like I need to go hunt? Like, I'm making plans to go hit my Targets early this Sunday......but I don't NEED to, it's coming to me. Why am I this way????
Same. It's in our nature. Haters gonna hate. Butlers gonna butle. Godzilla and Kong gonna fight. We collectors gonna collect.

I had to look up if "butle" is a word and it IS - but spelled "buttle".

Random things I learned today: I am not a toy hunter nor do I buttle.

Whatever you call collecting it's more fun when it takes longer. I set a goal of getting full runs of Fantastic Four, Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men, and Daredevil comics back around 2000, but I soon found that with eBay in the equation I could do it in months, not years like when I was a kid doing it but didn't have the money to really do it. So to extend "the hunt" (what I've always called it) I changed my focus to very high grade examples of comics, or on the comic grading scale comics in 9.0 or better shape. That extended my hunt from a few months to lasting from 2000 until I finally finished those runs around 2010, so a full decade. And there definitely was a bit of fighting off of other collectors to get those rare comics, but certainly nothing like actual wild animals have to go through. Maybe a few questionably moral acts, but nothing like killing off a competitor like lions or crocodiles do.

Since toys are a very different market I haven't found an equivalent to that type of hunt in this hobby. I suppose the equivalent hunt would be to find something like complete sets of 1970s Kenner Star Wars figures in high grade, but somehow I can't bring myself to enjoy those simple old toys anymore when Legends, Mafex, Figuarts etc look SO much better than what I had available to me as a kid buying those old five POA figures.

Psylocke/Thanos arrived early.

Only four of these figures still have pin joints.

Also, Thanos from this set is no slouch. Something about his complementary colors is so piercing. The purplish blue against the orange makes my eyes bug out. His expression is perfect. And he’s pinless too? I don’t remember the deluxe figure being pinless but it’s been a long time since I’ve handled him, and he’s deep in my display that I’d knock everything else over just to confirm. I really like it, and it makes the set feel much more worth it.

Can't wait to get this set in the mail. I was intending to sell Thanos off right away since the deluxe version is perfect for me (minus the head, but this one won't match anyway). Maybe I'll give him a second look after Norm's glowing review.

Had to pull mine out of storage because I couldn't remember either, but he is pinless as well.
My Psylocke/Thanos set also comes today. Will be happy to see these up close.

Can’t wait for Psylocke and Thanos. Theoretically, my set is supposed to arrive tomorrow!

Got the giant Gamerverse Venom who is a lot of fun. Very impressive size, proportions, and articulation. Love the saliva accessory. The size seems right to fit as a comic Dark Avengers Venom since he often grew to this size or even bigger in the comics.

Picked up the Spiderman 2 Gamerverse black suit Spiderman at Target on Wednesday on a whim, and I like him quite a lot.

I don't have too many Spideys, so I'm not sure exactly what buck this is, but this and the "comic cover series" Miles I recently got are really nice.

Yeah I’m using him as my SinisterTwelve/Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers Venom too. It’s a really fun figure and it will be a rough sell for Marvel to even pitch another venom that is this good unless it’s classic Eddie and the size rivals this one
