G.I. Joe Classified Series

On this line I have almslost no filter. I think the only ones I skipped were a few difficult to obtain repaints and a few of the early retro cards that weren't different out of the package. Oh and the Snake Eyes movie figures. Although I'm positive if I ever watched the movie I'd cave.

Don't.

It's...not good.

Snake Eyes is the villain.

I liked Akiko, though.

And I like the figures. Used the head & feet on the wave 1 SE to make my "ideal," because it's a good head sculpt (and tabi boots>combat boots).

I was so deeply into the line when the movie figures came out I picked them up. It's a damned shame the movie is so bad cos the figures are FANTASTIC. SE fits right in with his other looks in the line, Baroness is slick AF, I honestly think Storm Shadow's ROM is better than his main line versions, and Scarlett has the smoothest joints and posing of the versions they've made of her. (She's not really super recognizable as the actress, either, so she fits in as a variant. Baroness kinda looks like what if Anastasia had an even moodier, even gothier sister.)

Lol. Wait, wait, what? It's this like a Karate Kid situation? I intended to see it with the lowest of expectations but never got to it. I might just pass all together.

No, I feel like it's even more straightforward "this guy sucks, and is doing all the things the ANtagonist usually does..."

I can't buy it all but I have a lot. Things I have to pass on for the sake of space:
Sub set variants (Tiger Force, Python Patrol etc)
Snake Eyes movie figures
Cobra troops recolored crimson

I couldn't imagine resisting all subsets just to not have dupes. I wouldn't have the factually-best toy in the line, Tiger Force Outback! Literally, unequivocally, the best figure.

I cannot put into words why Zaddy Outback is better than regular Outback, but he objectively is better.

True story - I regret passing on TF Outback sometimes - but I genuinely do just fucking hate his shirt. I LOVE the old man recolor to the head sculpt, though. Like, a lot. I feel like I could have gotten over the shirt eventually. But alas... he's long gone. Also regret not getting the TF Ram cycle when it was like 4 dollars everywhere because apparently no one wanted it.

Snake Eyes movie is literal garbage. I say that as someone that genuinely enjoys even kind of bad movies or movies that deviate from the source material. But the Snake Eyes movie is about as far from both the character of Snake Eyes and the world of G.I. Joe as it can get. Change a couple of character names and the film title and you would never have any idea it was supposed to be Joe.
And on top of not being even remotely a G.I. Joe movie - it's also just a bad movie. It has no redeeming qualities. I wanted to gouge my eyes out while watching it. Even my son - who was 10 at the time we watched it - was bored out of his mind and thought it sucked. I can't think of a single reason to suggest someone watch it. Not even just for the lulz, as they say.

The figures from the movie are pretty good, though. I agree about that. If you're into alternate versions of characters, I think those are mostly worth picking up just to have them. Especially at the rock bottom prices they can often be had for.

I'll bend that "no sub sets" rule for TF Outback. I will likely not spend the couple hundred that the vintage figure goes for so I'll substitute Classified. This is also true for Starduster and the gold head Steel Brigade (but I don't want the other figure that he's packaged with).

They should just do a show on Paramount that isn't super high budget, but special counter terrorist strike team pulling from several branches, even several UN militaries, but not getting TOO outlandish with vehicles etc, and keeping things like Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow serving together, etc etc, pulling the tone and complexity from the Hasbro comics without doing a page for page adaptation. Though I do feel the closer the get, possibly the better.
