NECA - General Thread

Has NECA ever discussed the possibility of getting victims from the Friday the 13th franchise. At the very least, the lead survivor from several of the movies would be nice.
Randy has always said when asked, that the victims won't sell. I disagree and would love to get Alice, Ginny, Tommy Jarvis, Tina, etc. I think the solution is to put them in a two pack. They could do kid Jason with Alice and even throw in a canoe to recreate that scene in the first movie. I'd love a Sally from TCM, Nancy from NOES, young Laurie from Halloween. They did old Laurie of course, but that was also from a current movie so they may have thought that would be enough of a boost.

At least the final girls deserve a shot. It's such an iconic trope.

Reached out to NECA again (3rd time) regarding the Alien Day order and got someone different this time. They apologized and said they'd reship the order as soon as possible. Seeing as how she's been out of stock for weeks, I don't know if that'll really happen, but maybe they have a reserve somewhere. I ain't holding my breath, but it would be nice. At least this person gave me something besides "Be patient".

Was a nice surprise to see the Grabber and Baby Faced Killer in the Toony Terrors line. I was just thinking the other day that the Grabber would make a cool Ultimate; hopefully this boosts the chances. Still haven't seen either Happy Death Day movie; keep meaning to, but they're not streaming anywhere (for free, at least; I pay too much for too many streaming services to be suckered into paying a measly $4 to rent 😅 )

As far as TTs of modern characters, one I'd really like to see is Gabriel from Malignant.
That would be great. I really dug the Heart Eyes Killer from Heart Eyes as well. Don't know if it would be popular enough to sell an Ultimate, as much as I'd love it to, but I could see them taking the risk on a Toony Terror. Same with the Strangers. Didn't see the remake/reboot, and don't really have a desire to, but I think they're just popular enough to be able to sell a wave of TTs.

I'd really love a modern, Bill Skarsgard Nosferatu.

While I knew the deal about KidRobot and it being an indicator of NECA licenses, I was curious today and went looking to see what else they had.

M3gan 2.0--Unsurprising.

Dead by Daylight--could be interesting. I loved their Player Select stuff in the day.

Stranger Things--An Ultimate Vecna could be pretty sweet.

...and hold on to your butts, kiddies...

MUPPETS. I'm talking Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal...MUPPETS.

Are the Muppets a new development? As in since DST bit the dust? If not I'm guessing this is a case of them having the license to do plush and not plastic, so to speak. But I really hope Neca can do some Muppets.

A lot of them are Phunnys up for preorder. So, I don't know.

Huh, interesting. Stranger Things Ultimates are something I wouldn't turn my nose up at. I liked the McFarlane figures well enough, but they haven't necessarily held up the best over time, and getting them now is a pain. The Bandai Void series fizzled out hard too.

The Assassin's Creed re-releases gave me hope that we'd see a return to Resident Evil figures from NECA, but who knows. That's a line that I think is in desperate need of a redo- the remakes have only bolstered interest in the series, and you can't tell me Ultimates of Leon, Chris, Jill, Wesker, Ada, etc. would be freakin' amazing, not to mention modern NECA versions of all the monsters.

Oh, and a Skarsgard Nosferatu feels like an inevitability to me, whether Toony, Ultimate, or both.

According to Reddit, some of the Muppet plushes have been out for a couple of years. So, it doesn't seem to be a new license. I think it's still a positive for NECA getting the license to make Muppet figures.

Sorry to break up the topic, but I noticed BBTS put up the 1/4 89 Batman, Arkham Knight Batman, and Mayoral Penguin for pre-order. Really happy about the Arkham Knight Batman seeing a re-release. I love that Batsuit; always regretted not grabbing it, and the aftermarket prices haven't been pretty. Would still love more 7(ish) inch DC figures like their previous handful of releases, but it seems like they can only stick to 1/4 scale and the occasional Toony at this point.

I was about to say "Sir, this is a Muppets thread" and then I realized it was the Neca thread and not the Muppets thread 😂
