@docsilence I really appreciate that. Only if you think it will help. I feel pretty convinced they won't work by each other and I'd definitely want them together and looking uniform.

I'd say it just depends on what you're going for and how many you have. If you really just want -more- Vipers to add to a uniform display, I really do think these guys will stand out. If you want someone to hang out with your Vipers and look like he belongs, but be a distinct character or specialty? The new Retro works fine. I'm kind of liking the idea that Retro Vipers are regular Vipers and 3-pack Vipers are 'night operations' Vipers thanks to their more subdued colors and lack of exposed skin.@docsilence thank you so much! Damn, where my display is, it's kinda dimmish so that first picture has me rethinking, but that the second one is pretty damned clear about the differences.
I keep the boxes for Classified so it is nice to have them both as accessory storage, and display when a figure is not on display. So far I have only opened Retro Destro because I snagged a couple for cheap. Otherwise all my other Retro releases are still sealed on card (well the ones I only have one of.....Scarlett is next to get opened).Do you guys have a preference between cardback and boxed releases? I much prefer opening the boxes, personally I keep them all in nice shape and line them up on the wall in my garage (the side art is so fun). But the cardbacks, not so much, I just rip into them like a savage and throw them away.
I always wished the Joe team would have been able to get an art book done for Classified (before it switched to a single artist). They had some really great art for individual figures. Plus it was nice to see them giving different artists a chance to offer up their interpretation of characters.I would love for more toylines to release art books of their packaging art like Mattel/Dark Horse did for Masterverse/Origins. I love toy art and always have (vintage TMNT, Joe, and MOTU all had fantastic art that is now, of course, immensely nostalgic) but I literally have nowhere to store that much cardboard just for the sake of being able to look at it sometimes.
@Damien thank you, and damn you a bit, but yeah I wanted the retro as an officer or what have you. A Sergeant maybe, but want his different vest and holster placement to stand out more than the colors.
I don't have the space to keep boxes, so I end up photographing figures unopened and then recycling most of them. I HAVE saved flattened Joe boxes for now but I'm going to actually cut the numbered side out next time I've got room on my recycling and get rid of the rest to clear up space. I keep meaning to just razor off each number because they don't take up nearly as much room.Do you guys have a preference between cardback and boxed releases?
