Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

200x-era weapons fit these figures perfectly.

It's cool the Chronicles figure can hold the 200x weapons, but I'm with @Damien ...always hated that damned sword. Looks like some rare type of louse under an electron microscope!
I like the 4H's original idea behind the sword - that Skeletor had stolen both halves of the Power Sword and so Man-At-Arms had built a techno-sword that the Sorceress then enchanted to allow Adam to transform into He-Man.

But yeah, it wasn't the 4H's best design. I'm not bothered by the crab-like hilt so much as the way the blade looks more like a big knife.

Still, that techno-sword premise is cool enough that I wouldn't mind seeing it in a potential movie sequel!

It's a cool idea, but the execution is just...bleh. The 4H did some cool stuff with their designs...I personally loved the Egyptian motif they gave to the Sorceress... but that sword was a big blunder on their part.

BTW, love the use of the NECA Flash Gordon/Defenders of the Earth gun with MAA in your display!

So, the thing about 200x is that the 4H are shit designers. They prove it every single time they make something that isn't just them copying someone else's homework. The 200x power sword, even if you like the concept, is atrocious. Truly, a hideous design. And Skeletor's dual-sword is supposed to be both halves of the power sword, and is also ATROCIOUS.
Skeletor's sword and the Power Sword are possibly two of the worst fantasy sword designs I have ever seen. And certainly, by far a thousand times over the worst power sword designs in MOTU history.

I am also of the opinion that the techno-sword is -conceptually- wildly fucking stupid and I can absolutely defend that. But it's not even relevant. The design they went with, even if it had been a good idea, was terrible.

She has hit my POL as well.

I've got nothing else on order scheduled for July, guess I should pull the trigger on her and Dawn.

My Chronicles Teela has shipped too. I have another one pre ordered over at Amazon. I wonder if it will ship soon? I just ended up pre ordering the second one so I could display her with both head sculpts.

What do you guys think the chances are we see any new MOTU Movie Chronicles revealed at SDCC? Do you think they'll do a couple more figures, or do you think what we know is pretty much it?

It seems to me the toys are selling well enough, so I suspect we will at least get the obvious missing characters - Dian, Goat-Man, Spikor, Karg, Mekaneck, hopefully a Skele-Knight…
