Star Wars Black Series

I'll never fully understand how his weapon works, probably the most illogical piece of equipment in the galaxy but it's always been like that so it's fine.
Same. I never know if I have it facing the right way, if the handles should be up or down or what. Even when I look it up to see what it should be doing, it just doesn't feel right. It got to the point with Rebels Zeb that I ended up just having him leaning against his weapon rather than holding it. 😅 If I had to guess the main culprit, I'd probably say it's the handles-they both fold down in exactly the same manner and angle and it trips me up trying to figure out which is the front/back. Sounds stupid, and is, but it's how my brain works.

Either way, I'm quite glad they gave a separate gun and staff this time around.

It does make sense with shipping containers and costs since 2019.

McFarlane does the same shit. It's awesome/devastating as a nerd who likes these plastic dudes.
Pros: It makes you feel like a kid on Christmas/birthday.

Cons: You now have to pay for your own gifts.

Not that I ever didn't appreciate the money my Mom spent on gifts, but now I really do!

some of the parts made me wonder if we'll see some reuse to make Jaro Tapal down the line.
God, I hope so. I have wanted a figure of him for so long. Him, The Nineth Siter, Cera Jundha, Eno Cordova. I'll stop there because I could name like 20 characters I still want from Jedi Fallen Ordr/Survivor, but Jaro is a top want and would be such a cool figure.

You know, it kind of didn't hit me back when they were revealed, but Dogma and Hardcase are coming out as a 2 pack. And we have had Pong Krell rumored for quite some time. Dogma and Hardcase were in the Pong Krell episode. I wonder if that is just a further clue Krell is on the way? That Hasbro is letting Dogma and Hardcase out as a Wal-Mart exclusive two pack to maybe coincide with Krell's release. I hope he is finally revealed at SDCC.

Okay, so after opening up some far, objectively cooler figures yesterday, I keep tinkering with the droid mercenary and I think I'm just head-canoning him into some kind of ronin gun for hire type background character. We get so few generic un-named characters anymore that I kinda want the ones we do to actually be someone. I haven't had a chance to see the movie yet for like a billion reasons and I"m sure he's a nothingburger of a character but he's a droid in a cape! He's got parts from like nine or ten droids! He's seen ten star systems of bad road! He needs a name. (I had the same feeling with Guavian Enforcer and the Pike soldier. I kinda want a shelf the Nobodies mercenaries for Star Wars some day.

They don't do much world-building with characters anymore, and this guy makes me want to build a story around him. He's seen some shit.
I haven't seen the movie either, but I love the no-name background characters specifically for head-cannon reasons. I sort of hope he's just a droid that just yell "stop!" at Din before getting blasted. You're right, he should be some sort of mercenary bounty hunter who's just constantly been though the ringer. I haven't gotten this figure, but he's the one out of the line I was most interested in.

The ugly cape really sells me on him.

"Does this cloak make me look more biological?"
"Are you cold?"
"No."
"then no, it does not. Here's that replacement foot you ordered, though. We got it off a gonk droid."
"... robotic sigh."

I wish we'd see more droids in Star Wars who have been pieced together out of scrap parts for decades or centuries. Feels like unexplored territory.

"Oh this arm? Got it from an old HK unit. Pinpoint accuracy to this day but what a hideous color..."

I've already forgotten the movie (harsh but true), but I'm pretty sure that thing is an army builder if you want to give in to the sickness.

I was looking up concept art for him last night and if this were a different line, they'd have put him out with five different droid heads and called it a day.

I can see in my head which specific scene this one was pulled from, but I don't recall him being unique or special in that regard, as far as accoutrement and swag.

I can see a sad montage of a droid making his way through the galaxy losing parts one at a time and replacing them with whatever he can find. He's the perpetually put upon scrappy underdog your heart goes out to through the use of clever editing and music choices and goddammit I'm going to buy this thing aren't I?
