Does that Luke not have butterfly joints? I thought they were under the plastic overlay of the shirt. The updated Bespin Luke from the 2 pack is a pretty darn nice figure, but like you said, has a few things- like the lack of butterfly joints- holding it back from being perfect.
I'm definitely interested to see where else they can get some re-use out of this body. Doesn't feel like the typical jumpsuit body that they could use for, say, a Bodhi or a Matt the Radar Technician.
Had to go check, and hot damn, you're right. I wanna say I knew that and had just forgotten, but knowing me, anything's possible.Does that Luke not have butterfly joints? I thought they were under the plastic overlay of the shirt.
Literally one of the first things Luke does when igniting his lightsaber on Bespin is hold it with two hands in front of his body.To be fair, though, ESB was before all the crazy lightsaber fights and poses, so he more than does what he needs to do.
I'm super spoiled and I've gotten very 'meh' on the two-handed poses that basically only work in the super-close-to-the-body kind of way. It's certainly better than nothing. I want to hit that pose, but with the elbows straight(ish).I don't know which version I have but mine can.

So nah man.. if a Bespin Luke figure can't hold a saber two-handed, it's a failure of a figure on the most fundamental level.
New one can as well. These were taken super quickly (and I'm atrocious at posing for photos, so don't take these as evidence of the full range- the hands do get closer together), but he definitely can; even, to your point, Damien, a bit further out from the body than the original. Because of the overlay, his butterfly joints aren't as good as the recent Anakin and Obi-Wan, but somewhere between them and the old Bespin LukeI don't know which version I have but mine can.
I saw a thing over the weekend that said, Vader must have been so confused by Han when he showed up with his old master, the droid he built, his personal droid during the Clone Wars, a Wookiee he fought with during the wars, and some kid. "WHO IS THIS GUY!?"
You're right...but I still want her in regular clothes.
Well, in ANH, Vader never saw Han, Chewie, R2, C-3PO or Luke unless he spotted them out of the corner of his eye while dueling Kenobi. Something tells me his mask doesn't have great peripheral vision. For all he knew, Kenobi just recruited some Rebels to help him spring Leia.
Also, maybe I'm misremembering, but did Chewie and Anakin fight together in the Clone Wars? I remember him teaming up with Ahsoka to escape the Trandoshan slavers, and he fought alongside Yoda in RotS, but did he and Anakin interact?
Geez. Tough crowd.The
There was a few moments after the saber duel, when Vader starts towards the hanger before they shoot the blast door closed, where he likely saw Luke, and possibly Han or Chewie. Hardly long enough to readily identify them. Vader did encounter Luke in the fighter battle over the Death Star, where he felt Force in him.
Unless there was some sort of remote back up video surveillance which he could observe later, or they were able to run the Falcon through some sort of ship registry, that was the summary of ANH interaction between Vader and the surviving heroes.
We know there was a lapse of story time between ANH and ESB. Sometime between the movies is when the Empire gets the intel on who they are. Maybe they had a mole among the Rebels? That bit of lore isn’t elaborated on.

Is it better than nothing? Sure. Is it good? Doesn't seem like it. Looks super awkward and like the dumb overlay is still wildly restricting any utility in the articulation. Pretty massive fail, in my books, considering this body was purpose made for this specific character.New one can as well. Fair. It works for me, but to each their own. You know Hasbro can never give us anything too definitive, or else how could they re-release the same figure in a few years with one simple little tweak? Is it better than nothing? Sure. Is it good?
