I got Bull Nakano and Abdullah yesterday. Bull is a disappointment for the figure I was looking forward to the most this year. First off, she has the giraffe neck. The sculpted portion of her neck is possibly too long, but may have been ok if the neck peg was shorter. Pop the head off and the neck peg looks crazy long. How does someone approve this? So, we have new torso, new boots, possibly new thighs (not sure if Piper Niven's), and we'll finish it off with Alexa Bliss sized arms and shoulders. I might be slightly exaggerating about the Alexa arms, but pretty close. I think the best option here is to leave the soft goods robe on, which I didn't want to do, to hide the arms and to slightly distract from the neck.
I'm much more positive about Abbie, despite the price. Actually, it's not so much the price of these figures and more about the articulation. If I'm paying import or boutique prices, I kind of expect import or Savage Crucible levels of articulation, not S7 or 4H. I'd like to get one of these figures with a more traditional body type to see how well they move. Abbie has single jointed elbows that don't quite hit 90° and I'm not sure if it's just the girth preventing much movement in the hips. Underneath the soft goods pants are double jointed pinned knees. His waist is a swivel. Upper torso is a ball joint that allows a small slouch forward, which may be appropriate for a guy his size. They went with an all in one head and neck sculpt you don't see too often outside of 1/6 figures. It moves and looks reasonably well. Overall, I think it's a good looking figure. The likeness and distinct body shape is there. Maybe it could use a matte finish? I'd like to get Bundy and Pillman, but don't want to drop an additional $70 for each too soon. They're preorder was $60 and I hear they are currently carried at Newburry Comics.
Fact according to Google: Abbie is 85 years old and been married four times. Born in Canada and was not really the Madman from the Sudan.
