NECA '87 Toon TMNT

The past few years were getting easy, then the NYCC stuff was instant sell-outs. This thing might be $200 so I don't know if it will sell insanely quick.

Looks like Archie turtle bodies with toon heads using some of the new parts they created for the punk set and the Mikey/Donnie two-pack. If all of that stuff is removable they might make for great base turtles. That said, I need to see the price on this thing.
 
I'm honestly going to be surprised if it comes in less than that since it's an exclusive. Brace for the worst, hope for the best.
 
I assume it's going to be MORE than $200. You have the clothing, the other new accessories and the giant surfboard with wave.

I've passed on vacation Bebop & Rocksteady every time I've seen them in Target (and I've seen them a lot), so this is an easy pass for me.

They look to be good base turtles for those who haven't gotten any of the other recent releases, once you remove the soft goods.
 
Unless they do a truly Ultimate release of the regular Turtles, or revamp/resculpt them entirely, I'm good on Turtles for this particular line. Somehow it's gotten to be the most sizeable slice of my TMNT collection and it's not even my favorite iteration!
 
I'm not convinced these can be broken down to base figures. The shirts look like overlays, which while possibly removable, they may be missing belts underneath. The upper sleeves are also usually their own piece. If I'm wrong, I'd be really interested in slapping these clothes onto some Turtles in Disguise and making these my new default turtles, but I'm guessing only Mikey will be able to pull that off since he's just got the soft goods shorts. Hopefully Trevor jumps on a YouTube video before these go up so we can get more details.
 
Yeah, I unfortunately agree. I don't see how these would undress, especially the arms. But they don't have nude arms in the packs.

Seems like they might be priming for a double dip - sell these guys, then sell Ultimates with the Stump bodies.
 
Finally got a shipping notice from NECA for the cartoon street scene after a month — and it’s apparently being delivered tomorrow.

Probably, or at least Archie turtles. They've got the April as the fifth turtle coming so once that passes (and maybe the Sakai turtles and obviously this thing) we'll probably see what's next. I'm guessing Archie turtles at SDCC, and if they're going to do new toon turtles on these bodies as well that may come later. If Archie comes first they'll definitely want to sell some of those before revealing new toon ones since some people that aren't into Archie might buy them if they can work with existing toon heads. And then NECA can sell them another set! Gotta milk this turtle cow while you can.
 
Love the cloth goods shorts on these beach bums, especially Mikey. Not a fan of the plastic shirts though, I would prefer soft goods for those, too. But, the combination they chose isn't bad, probably the best way to make the most people happy.
 
Was Panda Khan going to go to everyone at some point?

I just missed buying one at a toy show yesterday and I have that next day regret.
