G.I. Joe Classified Beamish-Style Weekend Vehicle Poll - #80 - Laser Artillery Weapon (RAH)

Ru.

Ru, you know how we all feel about helicopters.

This feels like a personal attack.

(I really like this design. But I think I gotta hold out for the way too big Tomahawk if I'm buying another way too big helicopter. I blew my load on the Dragonfly for this range of vehicle. Though as always, with infinite space and money this is a yes.)
Here's another 3D printed Tomahawk. I think the size of it would work in Classified, it would just be expensive (probably $400US).

As for the Desert Apache. It is a shame that it came out so late in the line because it clearly suffered from cost cutting and bad gimmicks. The handle for flying and shooting was a neat idea in theory, but in practice it just didn't work and took away from the the vehicle design/function. Then just the cheapness of the plastic and no window in the cockpit......

I have the Dragonhawk XH1 which is basically the modern take on the Desert Apache and, to me, is basically the designer going "this is what it could have been with a proper budget." So while I wouldn't say no in Classified I think it might be a bit redundant after getting the Draongfly.

Nah. It's cool and definitely an 'if I had infinite money and space' kind of thing. But outside of that, not really much of a temptation there.

All of this. I have no regrets on missing out on the original and no need to revisit.

Whoa. I actually heard my wallet whimper. It would be fun vehicle/playset to have, but space and likely cost would make that a no.

The vehicle mode is not too bad, but the playset is just so weird because of the sacrifices made for the transformation gimmick. Also I'm not sure I like the idea of using brick to make it a fortress. I would have preferred grey metal walls to mimic the original headquarters. However that might have not look different enough when transformed from vehicle mode.

I would get it in Classified if made because I am a sucker for Classified, but otherwise it would be a no for me.

Hey look, it manages to be both a bad vehicle AND a bad playset.
No.
Also, even if I liked it - I can't even imagine how much that would cost and how much space it would take up.

If I’m honest, this is the era where I’d look at the vehicles, go “hmmm, weird” and move back to the figures.

I got excited when I saw the header of the post like YEAH, I WANT A FORT FOR MY GUYS! and then I remembered what Fort America looked like and was like NO NOT THAT ONE

It has a literal trash pile inside

Fort America looks like what J6ers would build with their reparations money, especially with the costumes of the characters on the cover art.

Right? I remember when it came out and I saw the name because I was still at least looking at Joe stuff then (and I think Firefly was the last one I ever got, though I can't remember his year off hand right now, but he was one of those "I never had a Firefly when I was a kid and I gotta have one even though I don't like this figure and don't play with them anymore). I wanted the crappy foldout playset too though heh.

I never had a Firefly when I was a kid and I gotta have one even though I don't like this figure
I called him “consolation Firefly” (never had the original, he was the *last* ARAH figure my mom would have let me have since he totally looked like a real-world terrorist) and while I did play with him it was always with a bit of “ehhhhh, dammit”.

Still would buy a Classified version, but as I’ve said before: they gotta fix that goofy headgear.

Even in the comic, he wasn't really cool EXCEPT the order of battle-style bio they did.
Design-wise? Yes.

I am the guy who liked the storyline this look is attached to (I love that Firefly is “also a ninja”: he was always Dark Snake-Eyes to me, not Storm Shadow, Firefly is totally the “polymath commando badass” for evil that S-E is for good), but all the time I was reading it, I just kept wishing he was in his classic outfit.
