General Marvel Legends

I'm currently sitting at 2,649 figures in my collection. Been collecting my whole life, but not in the really serious and borderline unhealthy way that I do now until about 2017, when I stumbled across a Vance Astro Marvel Legends at Walgreens and was like, what?! a Vance Astro action figure?! I must have it!
That was the exact figure that re-started my Marvel Legends collecting.
At one time I had nearly every ToyBiz and Hasbro ML figure up through Return of ML, but I lost my enthusiasm for collecting and sold them all, along with my complete DCUC collection.
Then I saw Vance at a Walmart and figured, what the heck, I’ll pick it up, it’s a figure I always wanted in ML. What harm can one figure do?
I don’t even want to try to total up the number I own now; I’m sure it’s well over 600.

Huh. Amazon just shipped Kitty and Pete and should be here tomorrow. Certainly no complaints about getting them early, really looking forward to seeing how they're upgraded.

I really don't understand how you've been collecting as long as you have and only have 123 figures. That's like 5 figures a year for Legends. Good for you, but I do not have that kind of willpower to hold back on purchases or the drive to sell off that much of my collection.
Oh, it's far more than five Legends a year. Trust me. I'm constantly selling things and refining my collection. I've bought, sold, re-purchased, and re-sold the same figure in one year. It's a lot of agonizing push-and-pull. I want a D&D shelf now? Okay, I guess the Guardians of the Galaxy are outta here.

I have limited space and an irrational fear of turning into a hoarder, like several of my relatives. That's enough to keep my collection lean.

I wish I had more willpower. Though I blame my excessive collection now not on hoarding but on the fact that I lost all my childhood collections in a house fire, and then I moved out of the country and got rid of everything I had at the time, and I didn't have space til I was in my 40s to start collecting again. And my partner got mad at me for saving every dime for if something bad happened to either one of us for the first like, eight years of our relationship. So now I've got a neurotically maintained but excessive collection for 4 lines and absolutely too many, though not crazy person too many, smaller sets of a bunch of other stuff. All of which I haven't owned long enough to feel like I need to get rid of it. (McFarlane DC might be the first collection I feel compelled to offload if Mattel doesn't screw the pooch, but like, Legends is so fucking good at what they do that I think I'll hold onto it forever, but NEVER start over with another line if Hasbro loses the license some day.)

Don't worry, the rest of the team is coming any day now...

After the heat death of the universe, a live-action X-Men adaptation that satisfies fans of every iteration and era, and a complete cast of Crystar figures? Maybe. Perhaps. One of us will be left, like Galactus, a relic of the last universe wandering the next. Do we seek sustinence? No ... we seek an action figure of fucking Star-Hawk.

Conversely, this is what I picture every time the comics GOTG are mentioned:

Sure, Pulse Premium membership costs $50 and doesn't get you any discounts or guarantees you'll be able to order exclusives, but at least if you order through Pulse you can be sure to receive multiple emails nebulously indicating that your order is preparing for shipment and to ultimately receive those figures directly from Hasbro weeks to months after 3rd party sellers have fulfilled their orders.

Unrelated: has anyone receved the Deadpool and Wolverine wave from Hasbro Pulse?

... you bastards were the only ones who had a crack at the SDCC set last year. 🥲

I kid, but seriously, I'll never not be kind of irked that I missed out on one of the only ML releases of last year that I would've actually wanted because Hasbro still can't figure out online ordering for con exclusives.

I received the DP&W wave from Pulse yesterday. I wasn't able to cancel it in time and got them all at Target last week for just under $20 each. Love when that happens.

I'll never pay for Pulse Premium but I continue to be salty about not having a new Shanna in my collection. Haven't been willing to pay the secondary market price and continue to roll with the one that's over a decade old.

Same! I’m still pissed that set sold out in something like 8 seconds and I never had a whiff of a chance. I’m hoping they’ll do like they did with the Mojo World set and release them individually. In the meantime I’m keeping the old Shanna up in my display.
