Mezco One:12

Imagine my fury discovering they dropped a Doc Nocturnal on Sunday In a color scheme that appeals to me, and I got the email well after the drop had sold out. And it was a Sunday so like why the f*** would I look.

F****** clowns.

I saw the email, went and look at him when he was still in stock, but decided I REALLY need to stop buying stuff I have no real connection to right now, so I passed.

Sorry you missed him.

He's a running joke for me at this point because every single time they have put him up since the first edition I've always narrowly missed it. And I honestly can't even blame life because I probably could have gotten it if I had just known.

I can only laugh. But thank you.

I saw the email in time, put him in my cart for kicks and just shook my head as he jumped from $135 to $172 with tax and shipping. I can't imagine I will buy anything direct from Mezco ever again.

Bummed that the Gangster line has seemed to replace any hope of future Dick Tracy figures. They probably have the same number of sales but without a license fee, so I don't necessarily blame Mezco. I just really want a Brow!

My first Mezco arrived in the mail yesterday ... Doc Savage, the Man of Bronze!

Usually Mezco's price point makes their figures cost-prohibitive for me, but I love Doc too much to pass up his first-ever action figure. I couldn't be happier with him, I carved out a whole shelf to display him with my original pulps from the forties and issues of the Marvel comic. He does everything I want him to, and the option to switch between magazine and paperback reprint inspired heads is incredibly welcome. He might be my favorite figure I own, broadly.

Dunno if anyone else grabbed this figure, or if they feel this strongly about him, but I just wanted to share a bit of my joy with fellow collectors.

I got the processing soon notice for Samurai Jack at BBTS this morning.

Very pumped for this figure! Really hope to see them do Spear and Fang too, I would just love to have them hanging out with Jack!

Ah, I didn't see it. He went to waitlist before I could decide, so I put in a waitlist order and I'll let fate determine things.

He's not as cool as Vapor but he's not bad.

I also waffled. I remember the OG hoods, but Vapor had a really cool style this guy was lacking. Seems like he even had less fit options? Vapor has some more mix and match doesn't he? It's been a while since I messed with him.

Yeah, Vapor had like another jacket and backpack — and middle fingers! Not a whole lot more, though. He was just a bit more colorful and outlandish. Today's drop is a bald Black guy with a bunch of sunglasses and sneakers. Which is still pretty cool, not on Vapor's level, though.

I much prefer the OG Letter Man with the hair and the sweater vest.

But I really like what they did with Vapor in One:12 — so it's a draw ...
