MAFEX Marvel Figures

I caved on the new Gambit and ordered him from Hobby-Genki. The after shipping total ended up just shy of $117. Yeah, definitely won't be buying many MAFEX figures going forward, but that one I just couldn't pass up. Hopefully he's as good as the images make him out to be. I was momentarily tempted to go in for Rogue to pair the two up, but she just seems lacking at such a price. There's something about Rogue too where her portrait is just tough to translate to figures. I don't know what it is, but I don't think I've ever seen a Rogue figure that really looked like Rogue to me. Even Mondo's look off to me.

Do you remember what exactly you paid for shipping? My AOA Cyclops and Weapon X have been languishing in Asia for the last few months as I wait for shipping to decrease. I too ordered from Hobby Genki.
 
I got the comic Gambit on ebay for about 128. I love the look and love the Cyclops I had. I want that Maverick so here we are. I will gradually add to the group. The delays annoy me but at these prices it helps just as long as I see progress.

Maverick is the only one I'm for certain buying amid all this tariff stuff. I'm considering just leaving everything in Asia with Hobby Genki and shipping all my stuff at once and then swearing off Mafex for a while.
 
Amiami sent Rogue's invoice a couple hours ago, roughly $110 for the total, around $36 of that is ECMS.

Yeah I will spare almost no expense there. Not only was he cool looking character and part of Wolverine's origin, they really did him perfectly. I have to get a team now. I bought Cyclops like 2 years ago and paid for Gambit this week. I will get Jean or Rogue or Iceman by June. Then rest a while. No matter the schedule I really feel these are definitive of that era and Jim Lee's art. So they will always have a spot on some shelf in my home.
 
Got my payment request for Rogue and Gambit from AmiAmi. Came to about $109 a figure with ECMS shipping. Much better than my last order where I tried DHL shipping and it ended up being $150 a figure with tariffs.

Still crazy because these were $80-$90 shipped before Trump’s chaos.

Yep. Worth repeating that we're paying $20–30 more per figure just cause.

I always enjoyed Maverick because they used him so sparingly, so I never really got tired of him until they turned him into Agent Zero and gave him a bunch of erroneous powers. I just wish someone would undertake making a version of him from his 97/98 solo series where his costume was more stripped down and streamlined. As short as that series was it covered a lot of ground for a character that was otherwise a side character and not much else.

The Mafex one is quite obviously the 90s introduction version, but I'm wondering if they'll give him red or white eyes, since red was predominantly just the animated series and a few stray panels. With my luck Hasbro will take "the stripped down version" to mean the Krakoan era Adam Kubert model with the green eyes and the mask that's more of a helmet.
 
Seeing as the release schedule has been so slow of late, I figured I'd treat myself to some home improvements. A new chest of drawers and bedside table set, an honkin' big OLED TV...

..so naturally, it appears March is gonna be the big one and they're dropping Robin *and* Jubilee, plus baby blue Cavillman and what's likely to be their definitive Vader. I'm more than happy with the Figuarts Vader but damn, the others are gonna make my wallet cry.

Ugh does this mean that Nate grey is being pushed back again??? Fucking he’ll this figure was supposed to release in July of last year!


EDIT: yup just confirmed it. Nate Grey is slated for May

Amazon Japan revoked their Processed (second time I've had this happen) and told me Rogue has no date again.

Ooookay.
