Infinite Legions from Four Horsemen

I don't disagree, but Arkhan the Cruel does feel very Moorecockian to me. Very Urlik Skarsol.
Arkhan's the best of the bunch, honestly. Kulutaar MinMax, Hugo Ledbetter, and Christopher Squawkin could use some work to be taken seriously (though I will not NOT laugh at a seagull familiar named Christopher Squawkin, that's just DnD shenanigans).

This design goes pretty hard.

I'd buy it in figure form.

Yeah, I have the minis Joe released with Wizkids and... they're honestly kinda fucking metal. I like 'em. If Four Horsemen decided to make them all as action figures I really wouldn't turn many down. The names are hilarious but I mean 85% of Mythic Legions names sound like someone sneezed and choked at the same time resulting in mild vomiting, so it's not like that's an issue.

They lean into the D&D side of fantasy, where regular Mythic Legions are often a little boring. I might have to vote with my wallet here.

I was hoping he'd be a little smaller to add variety to the dragon-dudes I already have, but he does look great.

The 4H recently updated their website with the statuses of their outstanding preorders and under this new release they said "The preorder for our first collaboration with actor, producer, author, and fantasy game designer, Joe Manganiello, is for his flagship Arkhan the Cruel figure!" That "first" caveat leads me to believe they're open to doing more of his original characters if this first collab sells well.

Their plan is to do all of the Dark Order if these two figures do well enough - including the manticore and turtle thing. They went fairly conservative with this first wave but will quickly get crazy if the demand is there. I see that as nothing but good for the line. Having new parts or body types to work with is always a good thing.

I've used a lot of the death metal minis to represent characters (not themselves) in tons of D&D games, and I absolutely could see doing the same thing with them in action figure format, too. They're all ridiculously over the top but I mean that as a compliment.

Me: “I wish they’d sculpt new heads so the exclusives weren’t just the same characters staring back at us”

Also Me: “WHOA NELLY!!!! NEW MUSCLE MOMMA THARICE WITH FOUR IDENTICAL 1.0 THARICE HEADS!!!! GIMME GIMME!!!!”

Look, I’m a hypocrite but I knows what I likes, and the Tharice head is their best work… it’s weird Cardy Heron is Red Sonya but I’m not gonna say no to it

The emotional roller coaster of that reveal:
OH NICE, Barbarian lady on the new buck!
Fuck's sake, I'm so tired of chasing exclusives.
But I NEED THIS.
But would it kill 4H do do a new face every five years or so?

I'll buy the damned figure but I really am tired of stressing out about finding con exclusives and I literally just stuck that blonde head from the Cosmic Legions pack onto one of the helmeted barbarian ladies the other day.

I was gonna bitch about the four identical heads as well, but last year's exclusive was the same head with swappable hair, so ...

I'm good with it being an old head. It takes some of the sting out of thinking about grabbing this and the likely wait it's going to be. If 4H released a new head with an exclusive like this, they'd have folks coming at them with pitchforks. I'd be leading the way.

Yeah, as annoyed as I am with four identical head sculpts, I an actually pop these onto other bodies if I want to so they're useful. Hair swaps not so much.
I preferred the days when their exclusives were things I didn't give rusty fuck about.
So very much this.
