Classified's '86 roster has been great so far. I think Lifeline is the second misstep, first being Leatherneck's stature. That's fixable with a neck.
So just swap a neck? Huh. I’ll try that.
It has been a feast these last few weeks. Sure in a week or so I’ll be getting the newest wave. I’m most excited about Night Viper and Big Lob. Lifeline presents a challenge for me to create the figure I want with other accessories. Hit and Run poses as a new character to explore. I got to figure out how his accessories work for his expertise.
But these pale to all the new revealed!
I haven’t read Dawn Moreno. Her appeal comes in the covers I saw. Yes, the comparison to X-23 endures her to me. I have read about her story and it showcases when things like that brain scanner is used in the comics it can be abused. I mean they basically did that thing Joss Whedon did in that show where people were re-written with their brain technology. Anyway. She looks cool to me and I bought two.
Royal Guard or super armored beetle guys are so dang cool! I want two at least. I’m sure I’ll end up getting more. I’m holding out for more sleek grunt options. I like Golobulus creating beetle royal guards and an army red ant type of soldier. So I’ll get a few to add other guys down the road. Great stuff.
Then Toy Fair. Wow! I heard Diagnostic 80 Chris at Full Force say they were going to have quite a few reveals. I downplayed it thinking we got quite a bit. Ninja Force Zartan! Man. I do have that guy. I stopped getting Joes around the movie time. But I’ve got some Ninja Force as I’ve recollected Joes. This Classified version is as freaking cool as Crystal Vall and Raptor. Morts of the line, now stars in Classified. Can’t wait for more Ninja Force. Loved Slice and Dice. Really like the Night Creeper figure. And they’re adding a version to Crystal Ball’s DIRE squad. So cool! Wish they had re-sculpted an un-masked skull with flames like Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion. I’m going to try the Marvel Legends translucent skull from Mysterio.
Love the bounty hunter Sundown… Come on this guy is a Classified version of Marshall Bravestar. I halfway expect to see some bear emblem and wolf trinket to go with his jaguar(puma) tattoo and Eagle tattoo. I’m liking the look. His mission is hunting down Headhunter. Wonder what Classified Headhunter will be. I like the new character.
Raptor Vipers?! What the heck?!! I mean it looks pretty damn cool. I’m going to be a patron. Mindbender making dinos does make sense. I think it’s funny they are taking the crazy lines that came in the 90s and giving that idea a Classified twist. I have Mattel dinos which fit right in to this story. Crazy.
Seeing the physical figs of what was shown in renders is very exciting. Hydro Viper is a beast. It looks every bit a genetic freak from the depths, mythic. Overkill looks odd. I’m interested in him as a cyborg. In my head cannon he’s mates with Darklon that was mangled and rebuilt. I think the comics has him as the SAW Viper who killed Doc and other Joes. Anyway, odd looking figure. I’m thinking Taurus and Red Dog look as big or so as Mercer. I’m good with that. So we have a Basketball, a football, I’m sure baseballs and Soccer balls will come some day.
I’m okay with the reuse ATV and Bubble. I have a Crimson faction the Bubble will look good in. May get a could when they are more cost beneficial. Simple possible additions. The Legacy commando is cool. It’s like Green Shirts graduated into an elite squad. More options for mods. Fun stuff.
So much. They still can show us new vehicles later in the year. It’s hard to think about more as it looks like we are pretty stacked until Summer. It should be lots more fun!
