I mean, I saw a Trump supporter on FB earlier saying that even if he's in the files and EVEN IF there was video proof, he wouldn't care because these weren't victims, these were '15 or 16 year old skanks who had nothing else going on in life'.

So, yeah.

Funny how girls can be skank at 15 but male rapists are still "widdle boys making mistakes" while in their 20s and 30s. Not funny "ha-ha" though. Truly a country that is perhaps even more sexist than it is racist but only by the slimmest of margins.

The only defense that I think is appropriate here is to not be hypocrites, because the Left CAN be bad for zeroing in on conservatives; this exact issue that everyone is talking about is rampant in the music and film/TV industries as well. Loads of celebrities are dating/marrying women far younger than them and we just kind of write it off as 'oh, that's just Leo being Leo.' We shouldn't just decide to be outraged/disgusted because she also happens to be defending pedophiles.

MAGA is doing all kinds of disgusting things, which are disgusting because said things are inherently disgusting, not because MAGA, specifically, is doing them. ANYONE doing those things, regardless of what political “side” they root for like a fucking sportsball team, needs to be dealt with.

I feel bad for a lot of the targeted people that did vote or support conservatives. I get it. They're usually deeply uneducated, not plugged in to politics in any meaningful way, and basically revolted against the idea that whoever was 'in' wasn't doing anything for them. They typically aren't smart enough to read the room. They don't UNDERSTAND that their choices are 'the guys I think suck, and the guys that would like to execute me if offered the chance.' They really thought it was just two parties that were mostly the same and one wasn't helping them enough.

I imagine it sucks a lot to get blindsided mostly because you weren't smart enough to turn your head. And it's hard to blame them directly because most of them are from places with an education system roughly equivalent to Louisiana.

It's also Minnesota here, which voted blue in the 2024 election. Like a lot of states, I interpret that article to mean they lost enthusiasm, not so much votes. And when people aren't enthusiastically campaigning for a party there probably is a trickle-down effect in states where it does matter, but blame democrats for running a shitty campaign and not a marginalized group of people.
