Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

My Skurge's axe appears to be missing its metal buttcap. The handle just ends in a brown square block with no metal painted cap. Online pictures show a cap. Is it supposed to have one?
yes it should have a gray "metal" cap at the end of the axe.

Enchantress and WBN arrive today. I don't have shipping notices yet for Warbow, Iron Man or Logan, but I expect them soon.

I am curious to see how soon Amazon ships out the mini comic wave and Inhumans two packs, It is quite the deluge.

I don't love it, but I don't hate it. I'm thinking the solution is to pry off the faceplate and insert Riri's head somehow BUT that's a lot of work for very little payoff. But maybe. :)

Got IM and Dark Spidey

Dark Spidey is dope, really well done and cool figure. Some very cool poses possible, would be happy to see the body used again.

Iron Man is... fine. Not my favorite armor anyway, the figure is also too small, with a head smaller than most Tony Stark heads. He isnt the first IM to have this issue (At least its an issue for me) but it doesnt help. Too its credit the gauntlets are cool and the double neck joint should start to be standard on all legends, but its still a meh figure.

Just got Werewolf and Phantom Rider.

I'll admit I was only modestly interested in Phantom Rider, but he's... just a really fun figure? Like he's fun to pose, nothing fancy, just an enjoyable, simple figure.

WBN was one of my most anticipated Marvel figures of the year so maybe I'm colored by that, but I'm really disappointed. The jaw is so wide open it is giving me like, uncanny valley vibes - I don't like looking at it if that makes any sense. Is his torso a reuse? Because it feels silly to use the old style of articulation on something if you're going to make something brand new anyway. And his arms are strange - like the shoulder sockets look like they were made for bigger/fuller shoulder parts, and his biceps have a lot of room, like they look loose but really it's just that the shoulders aren't bulky eough to fill the space. the deeeeeep cuts at the elbow joint look odd too.

All that complaining being said, I do think he's fun to pose, and he's gonna live on my desk for a long time, but my immediate thought was "I gotta find a head to swap onto him. Like if anyone knows of a head that would look good on the body I'd be interested. I wonder if the werewolf head from the Ghost Viper Classified figure would fit on the peg - I could see painting that and pop-n-swapping.

I got this wave in today from Pulse minus Dark Avengers Spidey. That figure shipped and arrived from Amazon on Tuesday. Phantom Rider is a clean enough body to redo Moon Knight with. We need Moon Knight on this bigger body instead of the one he usually comes on. Moon Knight for me looks awkward on that smaller body.

Yeah that new Punisher body is tops. FA Wonder Man should be used on that body and while you at it redo Count Nefaria on that body who was a bruiser when he fought Wonder Man and Thor. Well for me Blue Marvel should be on that body and even a redone Sentry. I can excuse Sentry I guess but he's not supposed to be bigger or taller than Blue Marvel or Wonder Man.

Yep. Moon Knight is about the same height as Cyclops, but he has 30 pounds on him. He's never been on a bigger body, but he absolutely should be. That Punisher body is the answer.

Dropped off from Pulse today. The only figure I preordered from the wave. Had to make sure I grabbed one before SDC gobbled them all up.

I don't know a terrible amount about Crystar, but I love modern updates on classic toy lines and this is a real fun addition. They even have their own little spot on my greater MOTU shelf which is mostly MOTU Classics, Thundercats, and a small handful of Mythic Legions. I'd love if they at least got to Moltar, Ogeode, and Zardeth.

I'm debating on what I want to do about Executioner. He's been a top want for me for so long, but dropping 2025 money on three figures I don't want to complete him doesn't sound very enticing, especially since he's more modern than I'd care for. I can almost guarantee that Hasbro does a singles release of him in a few years with the classic brown tunic instead of black. But is it worth it to hold out that long?...

While you're likely right and they probably will do a single card re-issue of the BAF at some point, I don't know that I'd count on it. This is a line that has been around for a quarter of a century and are now just doing the comic version of this character for the first time. Their appetite for re-issue may come down to how the wave sells and what they see the BAF selling for on the secondary market later. All I'm saying is that if you really want him, I'd consider buying the figures for the BAF part (or buying the parts from someone not building the BAF).

Out of curiosity, which figures are the ones that you don't want? I've only got Ai Apaec, Enchantress, Phantom Rider and Werewolf by Night in hand so far, but they're all pretty good. Enchantress is probably the weakest from the group, but I'm assuming that you'll want her to go with Skurge. You've obviously already purchased Warbow. Logan doesn't come with a BAF part. Iron Man is a newer armor but has a pretty different look than anything else for Tony.

Enchantress is by far my favorite - her only deficit being that she's a rerelease. BUT this is the hair I wanted the first time.

Skurge is fun - he's standing tall behind her. His skin feels way too peachy - I don't know what Hasbro got into this year, but a lot of the caucasian skin tones are this same too peachy color. Enchantress has a great not-too-saturated skintone.

The two of them are also the ones with any paint work - I think this wave goes down as the wave with the least paint EVER.

Phantom Rider - belt & eyes only
WBN - tiny bit of wash
Warbow - eye and eyepatch only
IM - okay, IM has nice paint work
Logan - don't have him yet

But that's three figures with literally a splash of paint each.

Enchantress and WBN are the other two I want. Leaving Spider Guy, Iron Man, and Phantom Rider. I'd be fine having Phantom Rider around, but I can't see him making the shelf, but the other two are pretty far out of the range of my collection.

I'm convinced after seeing Crystar and Hydroman from years ago that Hasbro doesn't want to make a properly done Iceman, he's in their revolving door of "whoops maybe next time" characters.
