Muppet action figures are going through a renaissance, now is an amazing time to be an action figure collector who is also a Muppets fan. Discuss NECA's Sesame Street, Boss Fight's Fraggle Rock, DST's The Muppets, the legend of Palisades, or anything else.

Ken Lilly, a VP at Palisades back in the day, has been posting some amazing images on Instagram (creatusmaximus) of Muppets and Sesame Street prototypes. It's sad to see what we lost with their Sesame Street line, but hopefully NECA can successfully cover the same ground and go beyond.

That street diorama looks incredible. But I’m kinda glad we are only getting new Muppets now. Palisades articulation was so limited. They may still be beautiful sculpts, but their joints (or lack thereof) don’t hold up to any current Muppet lines.

I'm going to be very selective on the Fraggle line. I may not even pick up Sprocket. Just the main Fraggles probably.

Sesame Street on the other hand will be hard to say not to any character they make unless they get tariffed out of my price range.

Muppets are already to the point where I don't even know who the new characters are that they are releasing. I was never too familiar with any but the main ones (mostly because of Muppet Babies).

I'm really excited to see what we get with the NECA Sesame Street stuff. Everything looks great so far! I love my Bert and Ernie figures.

As far as regular Muppets, I think we need a Muppet babies box set. I could be happy with the line as a whole if we got them.

My far out Seseme Street wish is Frazzle. He's such a minor character, but he was my favorite when I was little.

I had to look him up and I don't remember him at all. Maybe I should watch a video. That might jog my memory.
There's a song about him just called Frazzle, and he also cut into some other monsters singing Fuzzy and Blue. Both songs were on a VHS tape I had that I watched all the time.

Frazzle terrified me as a kid and I forgot he existed until now. Thanks for the resurfacing trauma. That said I'd buy him.

So, I checked out a few Frazzle videos. Besides looking like an old background Muppet, he isn't familiar at all. I still like how he looks and would probably buy a figure.

Oh I totally recognize Frazzle. Would even have been able to identify him by name had he not been brought up here. He was kinda the "Animal" of this group, non-verbal, kinda wild. Like the Tasmanian Devil. Was a little surprised he faded into obscurity.

Speaking of those who've faded away, I'd really love to see characters like Forgetful Jones and Don Music in this NECA line. Obviously in addition to ones with more screen time like the Two Headed Monster, Telly, Guy Smiley. I've noticed today's Sesame Street leans more towards furry monsters than "humanoid" characters, but those were the ones I grew up with. The fact that they're already planning Big Bird and Herry give me no worries that they'll get around to Cookie Monster, Grover, Elmo, etc. I don't know how they'll do Snuffalupagus, but I'm confident they'll do an amazing job.

Forgetful Jones, Sherlock Hemlock, the Amazing Mumford, Prairie Dawn, and Betty Lou are my top 5 most wanted humanoid types, I think. I'm probably forgetting somebody else. Sesame Street was a loooong time ago.

No judgment, Muppet Babies is great, but you're missing out on a few great TV shows and a dozen or so movies! Sweetums, Robin, Uncle Deadly, Pepe the Prawn... all are pretty big characters in at least one of the shows or movies, not to mention records and storybooks. Lips and Lew Zealand... are maybe a little obscure, but Lew has a great scene in Muppets Take Manhattan (I honestly can't recall any SPECIFIC Muppet Show scenes), and if you watched the recent Mayhem series, Lips is all over it!
Have we been given a potential date for Sweetums' release yet?
Hopefully summer!

Oh I'm definitely getting Sweetums. If there isn't too much else hitting when the other guys come out I will probably pick them up too. There is still plenty of room on the Muppets shelf.
