Mattel Jurassic Park Lines

I've found most of them, but not the Irritator (and was waiting to instead of preordering on BBTS, because I'd found every previous one, and most even on clearance - definitely got screwed by the "wait & see" method on that one), and I haven't seen the Scut in stores yet, but I got one from Amazon back in December, and have another sitting in my PoL.

Hit up a couple Targets this morning to see what they had in stock- only one actually had new product out on the shelves; both had items available for pickup online, so I think the other just sold through all their stuff. Glad I placed some pickup orders, because I got the ol' sizing up from a couple fellow collectors when I went to check the aisle, and they eyed my bag with the Spino in it. I felt like that one scene from The Devil Wears Prada.

Ended up getting Hammond Collection Spino, Tiger Raptor, and Troodon. Was hoping for the Stygimoloch too, but he wasn't available for pickup anywhere near me. All good, though- it's a carnivore day today, and the Stygi and Stego can make for an herbivore day later! Absolutely cannot wait to open the Spino; I'm sure some part of my childhood will be healed by doing so. 😂

I know they're not Hammond, but do we have any idea when the story packs with the humans are due out? Thought it was today as well, but everywhere I've looked, only the Spinosaurus pack is up for order.

Stygi went up for one day shipping, and should be here today.

Spino went from presold out to just "unavailable." Not a single store in the entire Chicagoland area got any in. Yippee. Great release day, there, Mattel. 🙄

I want those story packs too. They should be out soon. I recently picked up the Lab Lockdown T-Rex. It just looked like a perfectly sculpted representation of the JP movie T-Rex's. His neck is thicker or something, and he just looks awesome.
Should we make another Thread to talk about non-Hammond Collection toys, or Justice, do you want to just make this the all-inclusive Mattel Jurassic World/Park toy thread?

I can change the name of this thread to be more inclusive.

Forgot the Hammond Stego released today. Placed an order for pickup at one of my local stores and it's all ready to go. Really excited to finally add this one to the collection!

Picked up the Stego yesterday right before seeing Rebirth (it was the mystery movie at AMC). I really really like the Stego- think it's the best one we've gotten across the lines so far. Some great movement in the head, the plates are nice and sturdy despite being a softer plastic, and the tail has some great range to its bend. Would love to see them make a return in the movies too.

As for the movie, without spoiling anything, I dug it. It feels kinda like the slightly angstier older brother to JP3 in that it's standalone, moves at a pretty breakneck speed, and is relatively light on plot and character. Since I liked JP3, I didn't mind it, but I can see folks being let down by it. Still, I think it had some really tense moments, some fun humor (mostly with one character), and some really cool shots involving the D-Rex at the end. If you want fun, mindless dino action, give it a try.

Despite not being until the beginning of August, my girl bestie had grabbed me a Spino & Stego, and gave them both to me for my birthday this weekend. 🥲
Happy early birthday! A friend who buys you toys is a good friend indeed! They're both really nice figures. Both are favorite dinos of mine, so I'm a bit biased, but the HC has really been stepping up its game of late!

Thanks, haha. August 9th specifically (not particularly worried about identity theft, as my financial woes the past 10 months have left my credit in shambles, so if I can't get a credit card or loan, good luck lmfao)!

The Stego's alright. Obviously a massive upgrade over the Legacy one. Though, speaking of "massive"...I wasn't expecting it to be as large as it is, lol. Also still salty about the no jaw when there are numerous smaller HCs with smaller articulated jaws than her (or the adult Trike). :cautious:

The Spino is fucking PHENOMENAL. Definitely going to make my top 10 of the year (Therazin beat out Allo last year). Holy crap, it is SO GOOD.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the movie Josh. I'm definitely going to go see it as soon as it opens. I've honestly enjoyed all the Jurassic films. Part one is my favorite, and my least favorite was Fallen Kingdom. But I have enjoyed all of them.

I picked up some basic dinos today. I grabbed Torvoneustes (an aquatic dino) and Edmontonia. These were from the Frenzy Packs set at the $9 price point.

She's byooootiful.

So happy to finally have my favorite dino in my Hammond Collection collection. My top 3 are Stego, Triceratops and Ankylosaurus, so I knocked 2/3 out pretty early on in the line, and have just been waiting and waiting for Mattel to make my #1.

I went pretty hard on this line at first, and was a completist for a couple years there, but eventually I realized that I had to set some limits, so I've basically just been waiting for the Stegosaurus to complete my dino display. Feels great to say mission accomplished on a toy line, as that is far too rare for me. I don't think I'll ever see the end of collecting Legends, Classified or Vintage Collection, but having a sweet display of all of my favorite dinos (and then some) is going to be very satisfying once I put them all in one place.

Although, if HC starts making some of the other 'Tops, I might be tempted back in. Damn you, plastic crack!

Stegosaurus has always been my favorite dino too. I had one as a kid that was bright yellow with orange back plates and now I always feel like stegos should be that same garish color combo so I'm always a little disappointed when they aren't. Yeah, I know it's not realistic, but still. I've got to pick this guy up soon though. Like you I had been mostly all-in but then I decided I was just going to pick up dinosaurs I loved and owned toys of as a kid.

I managed to pick up the spino last week and it’s huge. Nearly the size of the Giga minus a few inches in the length of the tail. But Mattel is definitely getting better and better at this. It makes me want a brand new T-Rex mold with the proper height and overall proportions so it’s more in scale with these larger carnivores. Not to mention ton it could benefit from smaller feet and single joints in the knees. Just redo the entire thing for the male T-Rex in Rebirth first and then apply them to Rexy

I don't get why they went back to the bendy wire tail for the spino and stega after using a covered segmented ball joint tail on the giga. I prefer the segmented tail that the giga and theri have.
