MAFEX Marvel Figures

I dunno, I’m just glad they didn’t actually release like eight figures in November and December.

I will never understand why producing action figures within a reasonable time frame is so much more difficult for Medicom than it is for any of their competitors.

Rogue has been especially frustrating.
It’s really annoying when they just push it out a month or two. We all know how long it takes to manufacture and then ship a figure from a factory. If a company says a release is only a month or two out then that should mean production is underway, but clearly that hasn’t happened here.

While it's frustrating, the thing I try and bear in mind is that we are *not* talking about some huge corp here, they're not Bandai or Hasbro. Their bread and butter are the silly bear things, the Mafex line is more a niche sideline. Plus after all the vocal complaints over the years that they're leaving money on the table and begging them to reissue figures, with folks rejoicing when some lame knock off merchants rip of their work, being mad that they then switch focus for a bit to provide reissues of some of their most popular figures feels pretty disingenuous.

They are a weird little firm running at their own pace, and they're paying the price now in the lack of up front pre-orders I imagine. I only order when they're actually already out there now.

All the dopes riding InArt and LPZZ's dicks as the new hotness are in for a surprise when it turns out it takes those guys a while to get their stuff to shelves too. So far InArt's got 1 TDK figure with another due almost a year away, and as more figures hit the schedule, it wouldn't surprise me to see their wait times creep up too.

I hope you’re not accusing me here because I’ve never purchased a single figure from CT or Mess toys, nor have I ever been gifted one from someone in the collecting space. I abhor bootlegs and I will usually go out of my way to discourage people from buying these figures wherever and whenever I can because it hurts actual toy companies and prevents them making the figures that people want with all of the backing of the license holders and not to mention they are made with higher quality materials that are codified under industry regulations and standards, which is critical when it comes to manufacturing.

Seriously. We won't see those classic DC comic figures until 2027 or 2028.

So I pick up Mafex VERY rarely. I have the original comic Spider-Man, the CT Toys knock off of brown Wolverine (that’s based on Mafex, right?) and on a recent whim, I grabbed Captain America from BBTS when it was a deal of the day. Nice enough figure, but the stripes of his uniform are stupid. Not because they’re skinny, but because they’re not centered. Most of the time, it’s one red stripe below the chest star. On this guy, it’s one red, one white, and where they meet, that line is centered with the star. It bothers me so much. I’m sure there’s precedent to this in comics, so maybe someone can enlighten me? Because as is, I find it a careless mistake that keeps this figure from being perfect.
