These will be going up for pre order soon on BBTS. So, I thought it would be nice to have a Thread for this line. July 1st is when they go up for pre order on BBTS. So, that's less than 2 weeks away.

Who plans on pre ordering these?

Does anyone know if these will have stickers to apply like the old toys, or is Loyal Subjects going to paint on all the details? I've been trying to tell from all the packaging shots Loyal Subjects has shared lately if it says anywhere "stickers included" or anything, but I haven't seen anything.

I hate stickers, but I fully expected Loyal Subjects to do them for this line. But at the cost, it would be nice if we didn't have to apply stickers.

MASK is one of those mythical properties like Silverhawks that I never knew existed until I was an adult. However I now have Silverhawks on my shelf. Will I start seeing cool pics, watch some of the cartoon, and decide I need to collect this line? It is entirely possible. I should probably stay out of this thread altogether.

I had SO MANY of these as a achild, but with these prices, I need to be selective.
I still have my OG Rhino and Snake Oil tanker (well played with, so far from complete), so I might grab the new Rhino to start.

I have wanted modern MASK figures for so long I think I have to get them. In the very least I'm in for the first wave to see how they are.

I would love to be in on this line but I will have to see what the final prices will be for Canada before going in on the line. It would have been an easier choice if they were released in the first quarter of this year, or next. That is when my toy spending is usually at it's lowest so I can be more amenable to big purchases. As it is now I am looking to be tapped out for big items probably through the end of the year.

I have to put money out through the rest of the year for big items like (minimum $80 spend)

(preordered)
Classified Haslab (Snowcat?) Ok not preordered yet, but it will be once it goes live.
Cold Slither box set. Ditto to the Haslab situation.
SNAKE (x2)
Cobra Fortification (x2)
CLAW (x2)
AWE Striker
ML Dragon Man (x2)
Xmen 97 Sentinel
SS86 Ultra Magnus reissue

That doesn't include stuff I haven't preordered that I will most likely pick up at well like the MMS w/Hawk, Gargantos, Juggernaut and who knows what else might get shown in the next few months. Or what I have preordered that isn't an expensive item, but rather just figures.

Hoo-Boy!

So trying to see if wave one of MASK will be worth it at Canadian prices (probably $45, $65, $100 & $140 respectively) is going to be a tough call. The problem is that 3 out of the 4 vehicles in wave one are pretty big wants (sorry Condor).

Anybody need a kidney?

I had been watching YouTube content from whatever event these were shown at. I don't remember which interview it was, but it was mentioned that the stickers were a sheet because they wanted to replicate the joy of being able to do that for yourself. I think everything was a sheet, it didn't sound like how Hasbro meets you halfway with some of the stuff on Classified items.

"It's a feature."

Ah yes that nostalgic joy of being a bit OCD and not being able to get your stickers on straight and then screwing them up even more trying to fix them.

I hate paper stickers and would prefer something closer to ARAH style before they switched to paper for a time. Joe stickers were more durable and can safely get wet, but they're not without fault. It's like the adhesive seeped out along the edges and left a sticky residue, possibly because I stored the vehicles in a warmer environment for nearly forty years. My Boulder Hill stickers look terrible.

Adult LEGO taught me how to use the sticker sheet itself to place the stickers before commiting, and it changed my life.

I have not heard of this technique and now I want to know everything about it.
When applying stickers:

Peel the one you want off.

Stick part of it (I do half) on a brick separator or tweezer or whatever is handy enough for you to maneuver. You could also use part of the Sheet, which is what I was taught, but I like the separator.

Place a corner of the sticker down and slowly adhere it once you've decided on placement. Go slow, don't fully commit.

If you screw it up with a slant or it's not symmetrical with a prior sticker, use the sticker sheet itself to slide right under the sticker. It goes right under and you can pry the sticker up with no damage or residue.

Reapply and repeat the sticker sheet trick until happy.

This is fantastic. Thanks!

I'm going to have to try this sticker technique. I'm pretty good at applying stickers, but that sounds even easier and more reliable. While I'm pretty careful and good at applying them, I really obsess over getting them as perfect as possible. But mainly I really just don't like stickers on current adult collector toys, because I feel like companies should just paint on the details.

Because it's better, and that way the stickers don't fall off or get scratched, scraped, or damaged.

But stickers aren't a deal breaker. I'd just prefer no stickers.
