Infinite Legions from Four Horsemen

I remember that. I don't know if 'well, the minimates didn't sell' is exactly a litmus test for the strength of a brand. Minimates are themselves a niche collecting habit within a niche collecting habit. I've been a toy collector my entire life and I've never purchased a minimates figure ever, and was barely ever even tempted to do so. DST literally cancelled product before ever releasing it, and made a couple repaints of like one figure with no commitment to the collectors that they would do anything else with it. Plus.. it was DST - not exactly known for sticking with anything that isn't Marvel.

So yeah.. you're not wrong that it might be used against any future attempts to revive the brand. But anyone using that as an excuse is probably also an idiot.

Here's the thing about Battle Beasts. It doesn't matter that Hasbro and Diamond Select failed in their attempts - 6 or 7 inch Battle Beasts done by the 4 Horsemen would be a smash hit. The 4H are masters of anthropomorphic characters and the parts re-use they rely on for their business model would be baked in to the Battle Beasts concept and wouldn't come across as lazy or cheap in that context. They could probably even recycle some of theirir prior heads... the ML cat head; the ram, the crow, eagle, and duck from Gothitropolis; maybe even the bull head from 7th Kingdom.

I have to pray that 4H don't bring Battle Beasts into Infinite Legions. I might have to start selling organs to buy them.

I fully acknowledge it may be nostalgia. And I fully acknowledge I was able to move on to Black Series and Classified without even looking back.

But my desire for battle beasts would be that they are still little tiny figures. They should have more articulation. But tiny animal people that I can collect like Minifigs and amass under my monitor set up would be amazing.

But hell, show me a 1/12 mock up and I'll listen.

This is me, too. I'd prefer something closer to the originals, or maybe 1:18 figures. That's where my brain immediately goes on a revival of Battle Beasts. But if someone showed me a badass 1:12 revival... I mean........ I'm probably not saying no.

The 4H could just keep making anthropomorphic figures in MyL. I suppose Battle Beasts had more sci-fi armor. And of course certain character designs really stick out from the original line. The white tiger with an eyepatch was my favorite. So I do see value with an updated version of some of the all-stars. I just don't see the 4H working with designs from Hasbro. Granted, they often do homages but I'm not sure they'd bother with straight up vintage designs. They could just make a lion guy in blue space armor and it would get the point across without being too on the nose.

I'm with you guys in thinking a proper Battle Beast revival line would be small figures. 2pks and multipacks with maybe a bonus hidden/chase figure (which would just be a repaint of another figure) could work best. Small figures also allow for vehicles. I don't think the vehicles were really a part of the US version of the line, but they were pretty neat. Maybe they were brought over here, but I never had any of them. I just think a smaller line with the "gotta have them all" marketability could work.

I remember vaguely there were playset bases?

A giant beetle? I could Google this, but sake of conversation.

There's already a thread for that line in this subforum, and he's not really impressed with them from images (I posted a few pics in it).
Yeah. I stand by saying it's a cool idea with decent implementation - just not quite there yet in terms of what I'd be interested in. I hope they're able to sell enough to keep it going but not enough that they feel like they have no improvements to make, if that makes sense. I think that line could be cool if they work at it a bit more.

Can't speak to everywhere in the US - but growing up in Boston, I definitely had the vehicles. They were super cool.

Yeah I have ZERO interest in tiny Battle Beasts. If someone goes that route I wouldnt look twice at them. 6 or 7 inch Battle Beasts would command my full attention.

I loved Battle Beasts! I had some of the vehicles, and they were definitely cool.

There is a guy on Instagram who makes great 1/12 scale Battle Beasts customs.

On topic, today is the last day to preorder these cool armored space characters. I ordered the two-pack. Heavy space armor is my kind of thing! These are just the kind of designs I wanted to see in Cosmic Legions.

Seeing the reveal of the werewolf for the Mythic Legions line today reminded me of some of the villains from Battle Chasers. Which made me think, man I'd love to see 4H versions of those characters. Then I remembered this line...and realized it's not impossible. Fingers crossed!

Bizarrely, the second Battle Chasers reference I've run into today.
