Infinite Legions from Four Horsemen

So maybe something along the lines of...Hellboy? Something like that? He'd fit with a lot of their monstrous aspects of MyL.

Lovecraft stuff?

Ok. Hear me out on this one. Thundarr the Barbarian. Thundarr is already kind of done with the new barbarian figure. Ariel should be easy enough. Ookla on the brute body.
I'd be so in for any of those.

Sir.
SIR.
If they did Thundarr homages in this line I would hand-deliver the cash for the figures to 4H studio.

I've never heard of these before. Why did I Google them? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME, DAMIEN!?!? YOU TRULY ARE THE SON OF THE DEVIL!!!!

First of all, I never once claimed to be a good person. You can just quiet down because you knew who I was when you married me.
Second of all, I really like the Armorvors and I bought way too many back in the day, so I just happen to have a handful of them in my trade/sell thread right here on Articulated Thoughts, the discussion forum you are currently visiting.
Third of all, I will not be judged by the likes of you.
Fourth of all, I'm feeling a bit self-conscious today and it wouldn't go astray for someone to tell me I'm pretty.

Anyone in a place to do a Wizard/ToyFare deep dive explanation about the history and products?
I can do like.. the super truncated version: Onell Design was started by a dude. He makes small toys made of plastic softer than ABS (I forget which kind) with limited options for articulation but swappable parts using a universal port-and-peg system. They're stylized figures - largely focused around a kind of spaceman aesthetic with megaman gun arms. He also made Armorvors in the same style/scale/engineering, which are his style married to Battle Beasts (mostly wolf-guys, but there's dog guys and a dinosaur guy -- and he might have done a bird body too?).

Man... I personally want more Super7 Ultimates of the Worst (I need She-dusa and Snake Tut) and Thundarr... but seeing them in 4H Infinite Legions style would be just about as awesome.

It will be curious to see what directio s they go in for IL.

Damn, you had me at Battle Beasts.

My favorite was the stag dude and the moose.
I literally had four of the Turtle dude and used them as my Battle Beasts Ninja Turtles. My favorite was the Tiger, though.
Also, true story; Battle Beast hands are the exact inner diameter as LEGO hands. Which means Battle Beasts could hold LEGO weapons. A fact I got tons of use out of.

I really loved Battle Beasts. Collected a whole bunch of Takara's semi-attempt to bring them back, Beast Saga, from a decade ago. They're really cool but their weapons are soft as shit.

Oh yeah! I bought a couple of those. I thought the gimmick with the like.. dice roller.. thing?... actually made them actively worse than original flavor Battle Beasts. And yeah, the weapons were terrible. I ended up giving away the ones I had.

I think the sculpts are nice as well as the paint. And yes, the dice rolling gimmick wasn't good. But they're still neat little figures.

Oh yeah - they looked cool for sure. If they had been easier to get, I probably would have ended up with a bunch. But I was only ever able to find a couple so it wasn't worth it. I realize my post made it seem like I didn't like them - it was more stream of consciousness while at work. I ended up giving away the ones I had not because of the dice roller thing or weapons but general availability to collect them. The two flaws they had, in my mind, and my getting rid of them, were supposed to be separate thoughts.

We're of similar minds regarding them. I just kept mine. I had originally ordered a case of the singles, and those ended being a wave of translucent figures. I sold all of those. Can't remember how I sourced the rest. But I have an almost complete wave of figures. Think I'm missing one or two. Keep them in a shoebox. Recently brought them into work to show coworkers. They have some fun silly designs. Like the duck with a bomber pilot hat on. I do wish they're weapons weren't so flaccid. It's a bigger flaw than the rolling dice chest feature, which I think it easy enough to ignore/accept.

I do wish Hasbro or Takara would bring back Battle Beasts though. With people so pro-pet these days, I think they could do well. Blind box and/or small toys seem to be in fashion as well. Seems there could be an opportunity for a new line. Just don't compromise the base figures will any kind of gimmick which ruins the figure.

See, I think the dice thing bothered me more than the weapons thing because, as with Battle Beasts - you can fit LEGO weapons in their hands. Including off-brand stuff, some of which is very cool and detailed these days. So my figures had super cool weapons, but not much I could do about the dice chests.

Totally agree that Battle Beasts should make a comeback. It's so weird that they haven't in the current collecting world of 90% of all toys being nostalgia brands for people that grew up in the '80s and '90s. Probably good for my bank account that no one has done it.

From the Battle Beasts Wiki:
"In 2011 Takara Tomy announced the Beast Saga line, a spiritual successor to the original figures. The line focuses on three factions - land, air and sea. The fire/wood/water battling mechanism was replaced by a dice launcher which enables a dice battle game between figures. The series was released in September 2012. Figures include shields in addition to weapons and have been released in monthly waves. Shonen Jump produced a manga based on the toy line and an anime was released in 2013.

At the 2009 San Diego Comic Con, Diamond Select Toys acquired the Battle Beasts brand name after Hasbro allowed the trademark to lapse. They displayed a playset featuring a Minimates version of their new Battle Beasts line. The playset was to become available for sale on December 31, 2009, but was cancelled. Several repaints of the figure were sold in 2010, and at C2E2 2012 the company confirmed they would be going forward with a full line of figures. Additionally, a comic book based on the Minimates franchise was released by IDW Publishing in May 2012."

Takara and Diamond Select both tried and failed to revive significant interest in the property, which would probably make other potential producers reconsider the strength of the license.
