See, this forum has diseased me. I was always mostly a street level/ mutant characters reader ... and then you @#$%*&^s made me dig in with the Avengers family titles. Over the past year, my collection has gone from "I'm almost done with Spidey and the X-Men! Nice!" to "shit, I'd shell out three hundred dollars for Ultimo" and "I'd sell Dwight my firstborn for a well-executed Diamondback."

... nearly done with those runs, too. Guess Invaders is next. I'm sure sometime in the new year I'll start complaining about Blue Bullet.
 
It’s funny:
I’m in a chat group with some local collectors, and while mostly we enable each other there is this *one guy* who is always “you don’t need that, sell it! Downsize! Let me tell you how you should collect!” He’s actually really fucking pushy and arrogant, in general and specific to this issue, so I have fun giving folks the exact opposite of the advice he gives.

I've run across people like this and I'm convinced that they are just being severely limited in their own collecting by some outside force (significant other, financial, space) and they want to spread the misery and limitations to others. Kind of the "if I can't have it no one can" mindset.

Definitely yes. And also this guy seems to like giving orders and “topping” people. He likes to do that super-shaming “NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE FOR YOU” anytime I present a contrary opinion. I think I kinda maybe pissed in his Cheerios when I joined the chat several years ago: I get the feeling he wasn’t used to being “challenged” in any way. But yeah, he basically bullies this one guy in the chat and CONSTANTLY tries to influence him to sell his shit, and the guy he pushes on has a house in Philly with a fucking attic and plenty of space. Some guys just like to force other folks into their personal, tiny box.

I feel that. Way back when I first picked up ML1 Iron Man on a whim, the plan was to get a core group of about 10 big hitters - Spidey, Wolverine, core Avengers, the F4 - for a mini display on a single shelf.

Flash forward 20 years and I’m counting down the days until I get my goddamn Hypno Hustler. It’s a slippery slope…

I've been called many things in my life - good, bad and indifferent, but I will gladly accept "@#$%*&^s" and wear it with pride, especially every time a new classic Avenger makes it to Legends :LOL:
