DCAU/Batman Animated

Ouch. The original set was around $150, and at least came with a figure that, at the time, you couldn't get anywhere else. I know Alfred's gotten a single release since then, but still- maybe throw in the Bruce BAF, or a Dick Grayson or something? The all black Batman looks nice enough, but not for that price.
 
$225 was a lot more than I was hoping to pay for this. That's 50% higher than it cost the first time I think and I decided that was too much back then, but had regretted passing on it since. I be-grudgingly still pre-ordered it this time. I used the MTS10 code which basically just offset the shipping charge. It sucks that MTS charges upfront for pre-orders.
 
Yeah, they put minimal effort for an upgrade in it. It looks like the stickers are still the same as before. The DC Direct's stickers were so bad at staying on, they reissued a better, more adhesive set of stickers later on if you emailed them directly.

I'm surprised the exclusive figure wasn't different. It's basically B:TAS Batman with '89 Batman movie colors, which I personally dig, but doesn't seem like a big enough hook.

I did notice that the cave background cardboard piece is different a bit. Instead of having the outline of a cave, it's more rectangular with an overlay piece.

I do imagine this will sell decently, though, as it's been years since it was produced and the secondary market prices are ridiculous.

I made that figure myself by removing the lightning bolts from Lightning Strike Batman from the Maxie Zeus wave. The figure that's most likely to be unwanted/clearance from that wave.

I'm still amazed we have all these various Batmen and they all have the same facial expression. The only alternate facial expressions I have for this main character is "blind w/ red eyes" and "wearing motorcycle helmet."

Conveying all the emotions of your average suited up Power Ranger figure.
