G.I. Joe Classified Series: The Chatty Pointless Thread & Performance Art

I can't believe it. Several days ago I was haunting eBay for affordable Ghost Vipers like the D.I.R.E.-Beast-deprived ghoul that I was, having just lost an auction that went over my 70 dollar limit. Lo and behold, there appeared a buy it now listing for the Ghost Viper for 55 bucks with free shipping! I don't think I've ever purchased anything faster or harder in my life.

Only in the post-purchase refractory period did I look at who I bought it from; a seller called vipoutlet. My heart sank, I just bought a Wal-Mart Exclusive Transformers Retro-Carded Seaspray from them last month and what I got in the mail was some old-ass busted up Transformer I didn't even recognize swapped into the Seaspray package. It took a few weeks to get a refund, which necessitated me shipping the bunk swap back to vipoutlet for inspection. So I tamped down my excitement for the Ghost Viper, figuring when it came it would be the G.V. box with a bath toy, some goldfish crackers and a play-dough approximation of a dog instead of the glorious green and ghostly goodness I so desired.

But no! I picked it up from my local FedEx drop today and it's really real! The box is beat to shit but it's all there! I'm over the moon right now, in absolute disbelief that I actually got this great set for under 60 bucks after tax and shipping. Y'all keep looking, keep hunting, and I hope that everyone that needs a Ghost Viper will get one expeditiously.

Now I gotta bust Cristobal back out of his box so I can pose up the ectoplasmic villain duo together!
 
It's so weird remembering Lifeline's ARAH figure as a smiling guy, like he was handing a plushie to a impoverished child, and now the new one looks like a freshman college student who really just hates waking up early and going to class.

I think they really missed the mark here, just in terms of channeling the look of that toy. Still looks like a great action figure though. Maybe ARAH accuracy never their goal. But it should be! The "RESCUE" on his leg just looks so sad on Classified.
 
v2 Mindbender was the one I had as a kid and would adore a Classified glowup. Although I do wonder what a mind-control specialist needs a dildo launcher for...

Man, look at this loadout. Us 90s kids were spoiled!

I also insist that he have the card-art 'surprise orgasm' face.
 
So I just opened OG Hawk, Breaker, Greenshirt and Short Fuze/Steeler. Something about updated plain, simple green army dudes that is really working and hitting hard. So much so that I'm making the top shelf the OG13 shelf and it just seems so F'n cool.
 
I've been considering having an 'original 13" shelf, but it would be just the first 13 figures I have, which ends up being a handful from 82, a handful from 83, and a few from 84, but they're a good bunch!
 
Which begs the question, do I get retro Stalker and Rock and Roll, or stick with the first ones? I still don't know what to do with my 3 Scarletts. I like each version.

As much as I love the more funky/crazy designs, every single time I open one of those basic O13 figures I cannot stop messing with them. they're simple but perfect.

Retro and mainline Stalker are almost entirely the same except for color palette; if you can live the darker colors he's pretty much the same but I ended up making retro my go-to Stalker permanently.

RnR is a tough call. Both are cool in their own ways. If I had to save one in a fire I'd probably grab retro but there is nothing I don't like about the tatted up one.
