At least they are kinda on point with their branding with this one.

Their law-and-order ethos truly is “what if the Judges could exist, but we’re really really REALLY fucking stupid on top of being goose-stepping fascists?”
Judges are literally the worst-best solution to entirely human-made problems and entirely fascist ideas about how to fix those problems. So yeah... the branding is right on. But also, fuck these people so hard. Frankly, I'm just sick of them using whatever the fuck they feel like as a marketing tool. Everything from Judge Dredd to Sabrina fucking Carpenter has been turned into ICE commercials. These people are beyond unhinged and the biggest problem I have with them is they also remain completely unhanged.

I feel bad for a lot of the targeted people that did vote or support conservatives. I get it. They're usually deeply uneducated, not plugged in to politics in any meaningful way, and basically revolted against the idea that whoever was 'in' wasn't doing anything for them. They typically aren't smart enough to read the room. They don't UNDERSTAND that their choices are 'the guys I think suck, and the guys that would like to execute me if offered the chance.' They really thought it was just two parties that were mostly the same and one wasn't helping them enough.

I imagine it sucks a lot to get blindsided mostly because you weren't smart enough to turn your head. And it's hard to blame them directly because most of them are from places with an education system roughly equivalent to Louisiana.
People also sought out a political outsider because nothing gets done. Nothing gets done because of how jacked-up our representation/legislative process is, but if you don't know that, 🤷‍♂️

Ironically, the logical endpoint of a broken legislature is a dictator. By refusing to kill the filibuster, add new states, end gerrymandering, pack the Supreme Court, etc. Democrats set the stage for their own demise.

Big problems take bold leadership. Let's see how they do in 2029.

LOTS of bold assumptions even in this statement.
No doubt, but the further we get into this administration, the more convinced I am that people aren't having it.

Will he pull another January 6? Almost definitely. Will it matter if 65-70% of the country hates him? No.

If Republicans get blown out next year (they will), it's the beginning of the end. I'm also not convinced that he'll be here in 2028. He's dozing off in the middle of meetings. Grandpa needs to go to a home.

The Supreme Court decided last night to allow Texas to gerrymander their state in favor of fascists. Not a surprise, but the conservatives on that court are so mask off at this point that it’s not even debatable what they’re doing. They’re barely trying to hide their bias as their reasoning is that the congressional maps Texas adopted in August and had struck down in November must go back into effect because we’re too close to an election in…November 2026. Nope, can’t pivot and use the already gerrymandered maps that have been in use for 5 years up until now. Too much of a burden.

3.5% rule. Even if 80% of the country hates him, he KNOWS he still has a chance to remain in power simply via political violence and use of the military -- things he has already completely normalized to the point where we basically ignore that Democrat politicians were assassinated by a Trump supporter at Trump's urging.

They'll Weekend-at-Bernies him for as long as they possible can. He's already visibly a mentally handicapped Alzheimer's patient and yet here we still are. I'm fairly convinced they could trot out a literal Trump corpse and just say 'he's still a healthy, vibrant man of 6'2 188 pounds' and enough of his base would believe it to still violently overthrow the government if anyone tries to stop this.

Yep. Difficult to express just how much contempt SCOTUS has for the lower courts. They're overturning hundred-page rulings with two paragraphs that basically say "Because."

Turns out having multiple Bush v. Gore alumni on the bench is bad for democracy. For those who aren't aware, Roberts, Coney Barrett, and Kavanaugh were part of Bush's legal team to steal the election.

That's the ultimate fear. Does he leverage his military loyalists to stay in power? We've already talked about how that might look in this thread. It's not good.

I think that result is slightly less likely than it was months ago. Trump doesn't seem like he wants to be there anymore. Will he run in 2028/will SCOTUS illegally let him? How much of his brain will be left in 2028? What percentage of the cult is beginning to doubt him? How much Republican resistance does he get when he's responsible for a blowout loss in 2026?
