I can't wait to get my $23.99 Amazon copies of AE He-Man in January only to see a bunch of posts on Insta about people buying double-digit-amounts at Ross for $7.99 in February.

Regretting not buying at BBTS. I think I was so relieved to pre-order on Amazon that I just totally spaced-out on it at BBTS. Mattel's distribution is just incredibly weird for this line. You'd think it would have improved by now, but no.
 
I don’t understand how these things end up at Ross but also are sold out online 3 months before they release. It makes no sense
 
Stumbled on Anti-Eternia He-Man at Target today while looking for extra Christmas lights. He rang up just over $16 too! No sign of Mantenna or Mosquitor (who I still need).

So, first they told you they were cancelled due to payment issue. And now Stratos has shipped? Ahhh Wal-Mart. You fun loveable pieces of s**t.

I'm glad to hear your Staratos is on the way though. Hopefully your MAA will ship as well when the time comes.

I went and looked, and both of my Stratos Vintage figures shipped as well. I'm very surprised, and very happy. let's hope they keep the streak going with MAA, Teela, and Mer-Man.
 
I'm still happy to wait till February for Amazon to charge me for the new wave. I don't need the expense this time of year.
 
Vintage Stratos arrived today. I'm trying to figure out what's new on him. I think he's on the most-recent Beast Man buck with with different lower legs and feet? Either way he's pretty cool and has nice proportions. Gonna try to find a weapon for him, I would have preferred that to the alternate colors but I can understand why they'd include the variant parts for fans of the old toy. The only things I don't like are the painted face (the paint is a little chunky and you lose the sculpt...also mine had a chunk of dried paint...) and the "shoes". Oh and the backpack pops off with the most gentle of nudges so when you're flying Stratos around making jet sounds for whatever reason, it's gonna drop and the dog's gonna nab it (EDIT: Nah just need to shove it down after inserting it into the slots!)

Side-bar, wtf IS Stratos? He looks like a monkey, WEARS wings, uses a jetpack (???) and still finds reason in the comics to *need* He-Man's Sky Sled. Anyways...

They did some very subtle wash work on his body and it looks really nice. I know they usually do this but on Stratos is just shows up well. The upper wings have a dark wash, but the lower ones don't have any paint. Which does make them look layered decently but I'd prefer they match. I think both wings could use a little dry brushing. The vest wings certainly could use a wash.

Stratos arrived here too, and while @vicious nailed all the main points, mine has really bad paint on his lower face, the flesh and beard part. So the plastic appears to be the color of the face, so the beard on mine is barely painted. Like it fades out too abruptly and the hair closest to his mouth is unpainted. There’s a weird blue wash over the gray paint also. It just looks bad and is so noticeable because a face is a major focal point. The extra wings look like two different colors, but as vicious said, it’s because one part has a paint wash and the other doesn’t. Overall, not my favorite interpretation or execution.
 
I don't understand the (very shiny) blue jawline fur paint either. The head was cast in grey, the blue paint almost looks like a mistake. Like if you didn't know this was new, you might think it's a custom work by someone very inexperienced. As usual, I think an application of matte sealant will make his painted flesh look a lot more natural.
 
The blue beard Stratos is a rare vintage variant. I think the original run had the blue beard and different color goggles.

Looks a lot better on the painted prototype, mine actually has a straight edge where the blue starts on half of his face, it looks terrible.
