Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

Ok, I opened them all up and built Skurge. First off, I want to say this. This Wave kind of kicks ass. I am amazed how much I enjoy these figures. because I had them all ordered, then at one point cancelled everyone but Enchantress and Werewolf By Night. Because I felt I didn't want to pay for all the other characters, which I thought I didn't need or want, just to get Skurge. But I wanted the Skurge BAF, I liked his specific colors for this BAF, and then I was intrigued by figures like Warbow and Phantom Rider.

I'm so glad I got them. I like every figure. Even the Iron Man which I was least excited about because I have plenty of Iron Man figures and they look more like what I want. But this Iron Man, its colors, and its accessories make for a very fun figure.

But Skurge is perfect! I love this figure. Even if I had hated most of the Wave, I'd be happy just for this big chunky Executioner figure. But this Wave was really the surprise sleeper hit of 2025 for me. I like every figure a lot.

I agree it is a good wave. I have to disagree about Skurge being perfect, he could have had more hands for axe gripping, but the worst is no boot swivels. THAT is becoming a VERY disturbing trend in legends. The figure does look great though.

Skurge the Executioner BAF wave:

Mysterium Armor Iron Man: Very fun figure. It makes me really happy to get a figure of an Iron Man armor while it is still relevant in the comics. Tony is still wearing this suit in the Avengers comics now. The Mysterium Armor is an unusual suit design with its inclusion of black armored sections and with aspects of the silhouette. I like the armor a lot more as a figure than some of the original art. I like the armor as depicted in Avengers more as well. The figure’s pauldrons are nicely designed and move with the shoulder so that despite their large size, they don’t get in the way of range of motion. The ball jointed torso gets some nice range, especially arching backwards for flying poses. The thick armor plating on the thighs has a softness to the plastic that lets you get a bit more outward hip range than I originally expected. I like the additional gauntlet blaster attachments. In the comics, Tony uses these gauntlet blasters all the time to fight the Orchis Sentinels, frequently one-shotting them. It’s a cool powerful weapon, and it’s great that the figure comes with it. Got to pose up Mysterium Iron Man fighting Nimrod or some sentinels or zombies!

Enchantress: Amora is one of my favorite villainesses. She was such a great character on Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. I really like this update. Although I liked the old figure, the pins in her legs made my figure wilt under her own weight. The new pinless legs are nice and sturdy. Love the double jointed pinless arms and the new swirling green skull effect, too.

Warbow: Very striking figure in person, like Crystar before him. I love translucent figures. The reused crystal sculpt still looks great and moves well. One fun idea is that the green translucent color matches enough that you could make him into some kind of magical being summoned by Enchantress.

Phantom Rider: I am not super familiar with him, but I’m old enough to have watched cowboy reruns, so it’s fun to get a Western character in figure form. My daughters assumed he was a cowboy persona for Moon Knight. Nice to get a pinless figure in white. I feel like Moon Knight needs this base body.

Werewolf by Night: I am not super familiar with the character, but I did watch the show on Disney+. Fun to get a werewolf in the line. The figure is definitely what one would expect from the Jackal body reuse.

Dark Avengers (2) Spider-Man: The first Dark Avengers is my favorite iteration of the team, but this guy comes from the second team. Fun figure with all the arms, and it’s cool how the torso articulation was still maintained. Not sure where to put this guy. A Gargan Venom or even the giant Gamerverse Venom are more appropriate with the other Dark Avengers figures we have. Still a cool and unique figure.

Skurge the Executioner BAF: Outstanding BAF! He’s one of the most fun BAFs since Crimson Dynamo for me. I like that he has both good size and powerful proportions while still having good range of motion. For example, he’s got good elbow range, which is something that Thanos and Controller lacked. Great head sculpt and cool axe. Skurge completes the Enchantress & Executioner duo as well as the Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes version of the first Masters of Evil! Although we could use a fully ionic Wonder Man and an updated comic Abomination figure.

Thanks for the review and pics - curious where are the wolves from?

Thanks! Those wolves are from the GI Joe Classified series Ghost Viper figure. It’s a Walmart exclusive.

They are not. That is a highly sought-after (and quite new) figure among the Joe collectors right now.

A few people seem to be flipping the wolf separately, so might do that if a decent price pops up - not doing $65+ for the figure just to get a wolf.

Oh I just love this shot! Very, very cool.

Does Skurge only come with a fist for his left arm? Or is there an optional gripping hand? I was also disappointed Terrax, a fellow axe-wielder, only had a fist for his left arm, so he couldn't wield his axe with two hands. Does Skurge also have this limitation?

Yes. He has right grip, left fist, and two relaxed hands, with left having more outstretched fingers. A little annoying that he doesn’t come with two grips.
