Yeah, Eternals, MoM, and even a couple of the GotG3 figures stuck around here for ages. Now it seems like, unfortunately, the Thunderbolts packs are shelfwarming too. I have to wonder what all the underperforming of certain waves did for any future plans. What all was planned that got canned because of the low performance? If anything? I'd have to assume there was at least some stuff on the table that they noped out of due to low sales- maybe more of the things that would've been a gamble, like the Dar-Ben 2 pack that was rumored (assuming it was even true to begin with).
I only partly blame Hasbro here, though. The secrecy of Disney is starting to hurt these companies, it seems. They don't provide the necessary materials before a film's release, so oftentimes there's nothing to buy upon release to capitalize on the hype. By the time they do have the materials and can release figures, unless it's a movie that did gangbusters or was well received, they'll probably sit on shelves and not sell. What happened to the good old days of NDAs? Doesn't stop stuff from leaking, granted, but a lot of times that helps drum up even more hype.
That said, I feel like another D&W wave is all but certain at this point, given the reception of the movie. Deadpool and Wolverine both are characters that a lot of people would buy at any time, not just around the release of a movie. Other possibilities like more Thunderbolts, more D+ stuff, etc. is more up in the air.
